Ninth Anniversary (2024)

Bandhan Bank turned 9 on August 23, 2024, and the celebration was held at the JW Marriott, Kolkata. The occasion was graced by Mr. S. S. Mundra, former Deputy Governor, RBI, who delivered a thought-provoking Anniversary Lecture. Mr. Mundra's insights into "Indian Banks – Path to D-R-I-V-E" provided valuable guidance for the industry.

A significant highlight of the event was the launch of Avni, a savings account tailored specifically for women. This product offers a range of financial and lifestyle benefits, empowering women to achieve their financial goals. Furthermore, the Bank introduced Delights, an exclusive enterprise-wide loyalty programme designed to make banking more rewarding for customers.
An exhibition, Impact Pavilion, was created where existing customers came and displayed their products for sale. The Impact Pavilion was unique and saw a lot of footfalls from visitors at the event.

To recognise excellence, the Bank honoured its top-performing and best-performing branches, banking outlets, and home loan centres. The awards were presented by the legendary cricketer, Mr. Sourav Ganguly.

The celebration culminated in a mesmerising performance by the renowned artist, Javed Ali. His soulful melodies created an unforgettable ambiance, leaving the audience captivated.

"Banks in India have done meaningful work to promote financial inclusion with strong business correspondent coverage, small ticket credit, SHG networks, basic savings accounts to name a few. There is however, more work to do in this area particularly in rural and agriculture sectors. Payment has to go beyond remittances to the innovative solutions. Micro credit has to be supplemented with Micro Investment and Micro Insurance and so on. Done right with appropriate technology and partnership, this segment has the potential to become a meaningful business proposition for the banks."
