Awards for Bandhan Bank

Bandhan Bank received Pride of India Brands awards organised by Exchange for Media, the awards were recognised and celebrated for setting new standards of innovation and excellence in their products, processes and marketing practices.

Bandhan Bank featured in Forbes World’s Best Banks list for the year 2023. Market research was conducted by leading firm ‘Statista’.

Bandhan Bank was declared as the 'Emerging Company of the Year' by The Economic Times on September 30, 2019.  Shri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Home Minister, Govt. of India, presented the award at a ceremony in Mumbai. A strong management, good corporate governance and focus on the under-penetrated regions of the country have helped Bandhan Bank construct a low-cost, high-return business model. It has successfully built a loyal group of borrowers—over 55% of its customers have completed three borrowing cycles with the Bank, while a similar proportion prefer to borrow only from the Bank.  

The jury that selected Bandhan Bank for this honour was chaired by Nandan Nilekani, Non-Executive Chairman, Infosys. The other members of the jury comprised Anu Aga, Former Chairperson, Thermax; Bhavish Aggarwal, Co-founder, Ola; Cyril Shroff, Managing Partner, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas; Kalpana Morparia, CEO, South & South East Asia, J.P.Morgan; Pawan Munjal, Chairman, Hero MotoCorp; Sadhguru, Founder, Isha Foundation; Sunil Mittal, Chairman, Bharti Enterprises and Uday Shankar, Chairman, Star & Disney India.  

Mr. C.S. Ghosh, MD & CEO, Bandhan Bank was bestowed with the ‘Banker of the Year’ for 2018-19 by Business Standard. He received this award during the financial year 2019-2020 for the all-round performance of Bandhan Bank in 2018-19.  The decision was taken by a high-profile jury of five, chaired by former Reserve Bank of India, Deputy Governor, S. S. Mundra. Other members were former State Bank of India Chairman, Arundhati Bhattacharya, Vice Chairman and CEO of Housing Development Finance Corporation, Keki Mistry, Ican Investment Advisors Chairman Anil Singhvi, and Saurabh Mukherjea, Chief Investment Officer and Founder of Marcellus Investment Managers.

At Magna Awards 2019 in May 2019 organised by Businessworld magazine in Mumbai, the 'Banker of the Year' award was conferred upon Mr. C.S. Ghosh, MD & CEO, Bandhan Bank. In the last two years, this award was won by Mr. Uday Kotak, MD & CEO, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Mr. Romesh Sobti, MD & CEO, IndusInd Bank. Bandhan Bank won two more awards in the small size bank category. One was for the ‘Best Bank’ and the other was for the 'Fastest Growing Bank'.

Bandhan Bank bagged the ‘Governance Now BFSI Awards 2019’ in the category - Tech Trendsetter (use of emerging technologies for wider reach and impact). Shri S. S. Mundra, former Deputy Governor, the RBI, handed over the award at a ceremony in Mumbai on May 29, 2019.  Governance Now BFSI Awards follows a rigorous two-phase process to identify players in the Banking & Finance sectors that have been instrumental in the country’s growth and digital financial inclusion.

Bandhan Bank bagged two prestigious awards at the event. The Bank was recognised as the 'Fastest Growing Company', and also received the award for 'Excellence in Business Performance' in the category of companies with turnover of Rs.3,000 crores. Mr. Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, received the 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award for his exemplary contribution in the field of financial services.   

The awards ceremony was held in collaboration with the Association of Corporate Advisers & Executives (ACAE), Kolkata with the purpose of recognising the best companies and industrialists across the state's business spectrum. This platform highlights and rewards organisations who practise corporate excellence and sustainability, particularly through their efforts in various domains.   

Bandhan Bank was declared as the 'Best Indian Banking and Financial Institution' at the Times Business Awards held on January 16, 2020, in Kolkata.  The Times Business Awards recognises the leading business houses of the city who have contributed significantly towards the growth and development of West Bengal.  The winners were chosen based on a neutral survey conducted by a research agency. Around 30 brands from the state were honoured at the said ceremony. Some of the other categories were retail, healthcare, real estate and education.

Mr. C.S. Ghosh, MD & CEO, Bandhan Bank Ltd. was honoured with the ‘Vanguard of the Year’ award by News Vanguard – a leading online News Channel in Tripura. The award was conferred upon him on December 28, 2019, for his outstanding contribution to economic growth by promoting microfinance. Shri Biplab Kumar Deb, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Govt. of Tripura, gave away the award at the first edition of Vanguard Awards.

Mr. C.S. Ghosh, MD & CEO, Bandhan Bank Ltd., was bestowed with the Pride of Bengal Award in  June 2018, at Kolkata. This award was an appreciation for the laurels he had brought to the state of West Bengal.
