Debit card block and unblock

Choose how to block your debit card

  • Log in to Internet Banking or mBandhan app

  • Choose 'Debit Card' from the main menu or from ‘Quick Links’.

  • Select your ‘Active’ card.

  • Click on 'Block/Unblock Card'.

  • Choose ‘Temporary or Permanent Block (Hotlist)’ and click on 'Submit'.

  • Confirm changes with mPIN on mBandhan app or OTP on Internet Banking.

You will receive an email and SMS confirmation after successfully blocking your debit card.

Call our customer care at 18002588181 (toll free) from your registered mobile number and follow the steps/instructions by the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) given below:

 

Temporary debit card blocking
 

  • Press 1 on the main menu and choose the option to report your lost or stolen card.

  • In the submenu, To temporarily block your card, press option 2.

  • Enter your 14-digit account number or the 16-digit debit card number.

  • A One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number.

  • Enter the OTP and select option 1 to block your debit card.

  • Press 1 for the card linked to your savings account or press 2 for the card linked to your current account.

  • Select the card that you wish to block from the list of cards in your account (last 4 digits will be prompted).

  • To confirm press 1, the card that you want to block through IVR. To cancel, press 2.

  • After successfully blocking the card, the IVR will play the message “Your request to temporary block your debit card has been successfully registered. Thank you for calling Bandhan Bank”.

You will receive a SMS confirmation after successfully blocking your debit card.
 

Permanent debit card blocking

  • Press 1 on the main menu and choose the option to report your lost or stolen card.

  • To permanently block your card, press 1.

  • Enter your 14-digit account number or the 16-digit debit card number. If you do not have the account or debit card details, press 1.

  • Enter the One Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.

  • Press 1 to block your debit card.

  • Press 1 if your card is linked to your savings account or press 2 if it is linked to your current account.

  • Select the card you want to block from the list of cards in your account.

  • Confirm the card you want to block.

  • After successful blocking the card, the IVR will play the message “Your request to permanently block your debit card has been successfully registered. Thank you for calling Bandhan Bank”.

You will receive a SMS confirmation after successfully blocking your debit card.

  • Send an email to customercare@bandhanbank.com with your request to block your debit card.

  • Our customer care executive will call you on your registered mobile number.

  • After verifying your details, necessary actions will be taken.

You will receive an email and SMS confirmation after successfully blocking your debit card.
 

  • Visit your nearest Bandhan Bank Branch on a working day and during branch working hours. (Banking Hours: 9:30 am to 4:30 pm (Sunday, 2nd & 4th Saturday closed)

  • Provide written consent application to branch staff for Debit Card permanent blocking. The consent application should consist of Customer ID, Account Number & Card Number (last four digits) which will be needed to block the debit card permanently

  • Branch staff will accordingly take necessary actions to permanently block the card in the system.

You will receive an email and SMS confirmation after successfully blocking your debit card.

Permanent debit card blocking

  • Type BLOCKDC <space> <Last 4 digits of your Bandhan Bank Debit Card number>.

  • Send this SMS to 9920311246 from your mobile number registered with the Bank.

(Example: BLOCKDC 1234 and send to 9920311246)

You will receive a confirmation SMS on your registered mobile number once your debit card has been successfully blocked.

 

Temporary debit card blocking

  • Type TBLCKDC <space> <Last 4 digits of your Bandhan Bank Debit Card number>.

  • Send this SMS to 9920311246 from your mobile number registered with the Bank.

(Example: TBLCKDC 1234 and send to 9920311246)

You will receive a confirmation SMS on your registered mobile number once your debit card has been successfully temporarily blocked.
 

Choose how to unblock your debit card

In case you have entered an incorrect PIN on your Bandhan Bank Debit Card for 3 or more times, your card will be temporarily blocked for 24 hours. Here's what you need to do - unblock your card by generating a new debit card PIN with any 4 digits of your choice through IVR.

Follow these steps to generate a new PIN for your debit card 
 

  • Call 033-4090-2222 or 033-6609-6709 from your registered mobile number

  • Choose your preferred language.

  • Enter the 16-digit debit card number and confirm PIN generation.

  • Authenticate using the card expiry date and your date of birth.

  • Enter and confirm the PIN of your choice.

You will receive an email and SMS confirmation after successfully unblocking your debit card.

  • Press 1 to report a lost or stolen card on the main menu.

  • In the submenu, press 3 to unblock a temporarily blocked card.

  • Enter your 14-digit account number or the 16-digit debit card number. If you don't have the details, press 1.

  • Enter the One Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.

  • Press 1 to unblock your debit card.

  • Press 1 if your card is linked to your savings account or press 2 if it is linked to your current account.

  • Select the card you want to unblock from your account.

  • Confirm your card selection for unblocking.

  • After successful unblocking the card, the IVR will play the message “Your request to unblock your debit card has been successfully registered. Thank you for calling Bandhan Bank”.

You will receive a SMS confirmation after successfully unblocking your debit card.

  • Log in to Internet Banking or mBandhan app.

  • Choose 'Debit Card' from the main menu from ‘Quick Link’.

  • Select your ‘In-active’ card.

  • Click 'Unblock Card' and then on 'Submit’.

  • Confirm changes with mPIN on mBandhan app or OTP on Internet Banking.

You will receive an email and SMS confirmation after successfully unblocking your debit card.
