Mr Punnachalil brings with him over three decades of extensive experience in the industry, with a core focus on risk management, treasury, retail, and branch operations. In his previous role at South Indian Bank as Chief Risk Officer, he was responsible for developing and implementing the enterprise-wide risk management framework across credit, market, and operational risk domains. He also played a pivotal role in defining the bank's risk appetite, aligning internal policies with regulatory mandates, and fostering a culture of strong governance across business verticals.
Mr Punnachalil holds a postgraduate degree in Physics, is a CFP® certified by FPSB, and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. He has attended a Leadership Development Programme at IIM Bangalore and holds multiple certifications, including a Diploma in Treasury, Investment, and Risk Management.
